The Great Gladius
Roman weapons included the Gladius, the Hispanic sword as some called it. It is the iconic short sword of the Roman army. It was created and adopted by Spanish tribes and Clans. When in combat, the Gladius was meant for stabbing and slashing, but it was usually used for stabbing. When there were two different forces pressing against each other, the Gladius was ideal for stabbing when longer weapons, like spears, became useless in tight spaces. The Gladius, being a short sword, was the only weapon able to kill in the tight space. The Gladius was the main Roman weapon through the rest of the Roman Empire, which was 4th century BC and 3rd century AD. The Gladius was truly one of the most legendary weapons of all time.
